Science Behind Shockwave Therapy

Our state-of-the-art shockwave technology delivers high-energy sound waves to the affected area. These waves increase blood flow, tissue repair, and cell regeneration. The process triggers your body’s natural healing response, reducing pain and improving function. It’s a safe and effective alternative treatment to surgery and long-term medication use.

Benefits of Shockwave Treatment

  • Non-Invasive: Say goodbye to surgical procedures and lengthy recoveries.
  • Quick Results: Many patients experience improvement after just a few sessions.
  • Minimal Side Effects: Unlike some treatments, shockwave therapy typically has few side effects (temporary soreness, bruising or swelling, redness or skin irritation).
  • Long-Lasting Relief: Enjoy lasting pain relief and improved mobility.

What to Expect From Your Shockwave Session

ASSESSMENT – At your first shockwave treatment one of our chiropractors or physiotherapists will assess your injury/condition to determine the proper treatment plan and shockwave settings.

PRE-APPLICATION– Your provider will apply a conductive gel to the specified treatment area. The gel is used to transmit the shockwave energy from the device to the damaged tissue more effectively.

APPLICATION – Your provider will use the shockwave therapy gun to deliver shockwave pulses to the injured tissue. During the application the provider will apply pressure with the shockwave device and move the gun in a circular motion to the painful or damaged tissue.

SHOCKWAVE IMPULSE – The shockwave therapy gun generates high-energy sound waves that are transmitted into the tissues. The allows for the increased blood flow, tissue repair and cellular regeneration of bone and/or soft tissues.

POST-SHOCKWAVE TREATMENT– Shockwave sessions generally last 10-20 minutes. Your provider will provide post-treatment care instructions and movement recommendations.
